Abstract
The distribution and occurrence of Archiannelida has been investigated in the estuarine area of the rivers Rhine, Meuse and Scheldt, The Netherlands. Ten species have been found. No Archiannelida occurred below approximately 15‰Cl-. It is additionally concluded that the texture of the sediments in the studied area, medium, fine and very fine sands, also constitutes a negative factor to the occurrence of Archiannelida
