Abstract:
Het Federale Wetenschapsbeleid heeft tot taak: de voorbereiding, de uitvoering en de evaluatie van het wetenschapsbeleid en aanverwante aangelegenheden; in het bijzonder de tenuitvoerlegging, in opdracht van de Regering, van wetenschappelijke en technische middelen ter ondersteuning van de bevoegdheden van de Federale overheid; de uitbouw van een permanente algemene expertise ten dienste van de Federale overheid in wetenschappelijke en technische gebieden. Bovendien kwamen in januari 2002 de Eerste Minister en de Minister van Wetenschapsbeleid overeen om het departement te belasten met het vraagstuk van de geplunderde culturele goederen van de Joodse gemeenschap tijdens de oorlog.
