Eurytemora affinis was cultured in 18 treatment combinations involving three temperatures (10, 15 and 20 °C) and six salinities (5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 ppt). Differences in response to different combinations were not marked between naupliar and copepodite stages of development. Highest naupliar and copepodite survivals were obtained at 20 ppt salinity at 15 °C, and 15 ppt salinity at 20 °C. Duration of development was particularly affected by temperature (Q10 values 1.59–2.21). Step-regression analysis of the mortality data indicated that the combination of temperature and salinity influenced mortality more than either temperature or salinity alone.
